What is the Difference between an Apartment,
a Condo Townhouse and a Condo Unit
There are some confusions on the differences between an apartment, condo townhouse and a condo unit.
A Condo Unit and an Apartment are located in one building or structure. Inside a large building, the spaces are divided to several units. These units are then made into a condo or an apartment. The sole difference is that, you can individually own or purchase the condo unit while for an apartment, the unit is still being owned the owner of the building, and you are simply renting the space out.
A condo townhouse is different as well. Whereas a condo unit is situated inside large building, a condo townhouse looks exactly like a typical townhouse out on the streets or subdivisions. The condo townhouses, however, have the same conditions as condo units where you have to pay maintenance fees and the like.
